Sorry guys, another air suspension fault

Hey you’d think with the amount of problems the EAS is known to have everything would have been covered by now, I’ve tried searching but couldn’t find much.

Never had an issue with the EAS until tonight jumped in the car coming back from the shopping centre and it was fine driving out of the multi story, pulled up to a set of lights just as the car came to a stop I got the three amigos light up on the dash and “air suspension inactive” “ HDC inactive” and “trans failsafe prog” but immediately afterwards the trans failsafe went off and the trans worked fine on the drive home.

When I got home I plugged in the snap on scanner and pulled out “50 can bus fault” from the EAS ecu

I also pulled various CAN messages from the ABS ecu and a traction control input signal message stored in the trans.

The abs system codes cleared the others didn’t.

Whilst in the ABS system I noticed in the live data the ABS pressure sensor measuring in BAR was measuring all over the place jumping from 2 to over 20,000 then back down to 100, the car wasn’t running and my foot wasn’t on the break so I guess this is my first port of call maybe just a bad sensor throwing the EAS and trans out.

What was odd after I switched the ignition off the car lowered slightly at the front then pumped back up straight away.

The air compressor kicked in and ran constantly till I opened the door, when I switched the ignition back on the compressor also switched off, every time I got out of the car the pump would just run constantly even though the reservoir pressure was around 11 BAR.

I’ve had to pull the fuse for the compressor just so it won’t drain the battery overnight.

I will be looking into it on Saturday so if anyone has some pointers of some things to check that would be appreciated.

ABS Sensors your first port of call, they will shut off the EAS .

There could well be a problem there, although I will test more thoroughly this weekend.

When I jumped in the car this morning, put the fuse back in for the air compressor started it up and drove the 25km's to work without an issue.

Definitely unusual, but I have seen many cars particularly Land Rovers and BMW's have some weird electrical glitches like this before. Current:
