United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Supercharged 4.2 SC V8 Barolo Black
RR Sport 4.2 Supercharge 2007- broke down/fault question

I had the bearings replaced on my supercharger, also the belt and breather pipe as they were damaged on removal.

The vehicle on driving it away from the garage, on a dual carriageway went into the reduced speed mode and the engine management light flickered up orange intermittently. I stopped the vehicle and noticed what I found out to be steam coming from the black cover in front of the supercharger. I noticed the radiator top upbottle was empty as well. I topped it up and allowed the air to escape, it did so, quite noisily. Popping loudly. Not as you would expect with a normal top up. I proceeded on my journey and kept an eye on the temp, all was fine. No lights or warnings. The following day, I checked the water level, all seemed ok. I made a journey of 140 miles, normal speed, I don’t drive fast, to have the same thing happen, only this time the battery light came on and the vehicle cut out. Warning of reduced speed, engine management light flashing orange, Steam and empty bottle again. I topped up the water, but unfortunately could not start the engine? It’s not sounding as it should. Just a whirring noise like struggling to start? There were no loud noises or rattles prior to this happening. Just the same thing as before except it now not starting. The battery was draining really fast as well? Boosted to get it out of park for the vehicle recovery guy, then it drained again, with nothing switched on, in the vehicle. Anybody heard of this or can advise as to what has happened? Thanks in advance

Perhaps you will have more luck on the RR Sport Forum:

http://www.rrsport.co.uk/

However, it does sound as if all hell has broken loose under the bonnet:

Cooling system issues following supercharger repairs ?
Alternator issues (possibly not related) ? .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember Wink
