Electrically Folding Rear Seats

Hi All,

New to the forum, but had a couple of RRs over the years. Just bought a very well-spec'd SE 3.0, 2013 with only 20k miles. Older than I wanted but has been stored since May 2015 so is like brand new.

Anyway, I'll get to the point... The electrically folding rear seats foul the front seats when folding down. I've previously seen video reviews (when I was shopping for one) that demonstrated the seats folding, but the fronts moving forward automatically so they didn't touch...

Is this something introduced later on or am I missing something obvious setting-wise?
Do I have to move the front seats forward each time I want to fold the rear seats?

If it's the latter, it all seems a bit pointless/gimmicky as it's suddenly much more hassle than folding manually!

Thanks in advance.

Hi mate,
daft question are the head rests up.
I have had this issue and the only way i could stop was to make sure the head rests were fully down.

Yep, only later models had front seats moving automatically. stupid thing to go always in the boot, push the buttons to fold the seats down...then remember that front seats are to far back, go to the front seats and move them forward, go back to the boot and fold rear seats completely......why nobody did think about this details...seems like a miracle to me. I am not a engeneer, but I could have done it better.

yep only later models (not sure which year) had the auto move forward of the front seats. If you have a driver and front seat passenger with short legs then its prob not an issue as the seats probably already forward.... but for the rest of us..... Rolling Eyes
