A little further back in this thread I said the badges were black and changed the grill badge to match. I noticed recently the rear badge is actually green so I was good in the first place. The wheel caps are green too so I decided to change the lot to black. I have no clue who could have changed them to green, they must have seen the grill badge before I swapped it for black and changed them.

All 405’s of your vintage have dark green badges Huw... Don’t know why JLR changed them again???

So the badge idea is now not to have one at all with the thought of removing the AB badge too, we'll see. I've tried to polish out the mark from where the old badge was but I can still see a mark in some lighting conditions so I'll get my local man to machine polish the area.
I've bought a set of LWB AB wheels and given them a good clean up and sealed them with three coats of Poorboys wheel sealant. The reviews were very good but only time will tell. I'll get the car cleaned and then swap the wheels to the new set. I end up with 5 brand new Pirelli Scorpion Verde's into the bargain.

All very simple stuff really and all genuine LR too boot. Side vents and wheels from eBay and the grill from our very own Cam Tech Craig. I had the vents painted body colour and may have the bonnet trim near the scuttle done too. Undecided at present. Makes my car just a bit different to the others.
