I have heard it run when Ive done a short journey and the engine hasnt warmed up. I have tried running it manually without the engine running, I press the manual heat soft key. I can hear the flaps move in the ventilation system, I hear the fan start up on the burner and then after about a minute it shuts down. No errors, no warnings, no messages at all.

The air temperature might be too warm, can’t remember what it has to be below.

I think it's below 6 Celsius for the Disco. But the remote fob should trigger it for a full cycle irrespective of the air temperature AFAIK. I ran mine the other day and it ran for quite some time - on my D3 it would run until either a certain coolant temp was reached or a time threshold was exceeded. 2016 Skoda Octavia VRS Estate

I can hear the heater FBH fan running (Ive had webasto's on Ford Galaxy and VW Touareg), I dont hear it ignite i.e. the roar that is usually associated. Are they accessible with GAP tool to see whats going on?

Yep, mine runs on the fob even when temp is well above 6 Celsius, more like 12. And that tallies with the FBH description in the wiki. 2016 Skoda Octavia VRS Estate

Ah, mine is a 3.6 though. Perhaps it's different on the 4.4? 2016 Skoda Octavia VRS Estate

the 4.4 is a bit more fussy when it will run, true. IIRC on my 3.6, it would cycle through the fans etc but wouldn't kick the actual burner in if it was too warm on the fob. could be remembering incorrectly tho. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

If you really want to test it, use a freeze spray or an ice cube on the temp sensor behind the grille. 2016 Skoda Octavia VRS Estate

I suppose I could connect my decade box to it and dial in whatever temp I want. I may give it a try tomorrow, good idea, thanks ! BMW i3 Electric Car

Mine's doing exactly the same. I'm about to put a new battery in as the rest voltage is a bit low on mine. Hoping that will fix it. Mine did work on the timer the first few times I tried it last winter but then appeared to stop. 2010 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE |
