EGR fault

Whilst chasing down an intermittent HVAC fault I read all the codes and came up with this one-

• P140E-21 ( 28 ) Exhaust gas recirculation position sensor C minimum/maximum stop performance - General signal failure - signal amplitude<minimum

I blanked them out and had them mapped out 2 years ago, haven't seen this fault since.

Why would this fault appear now? 2007 3.6 TDV8
