Nearside Front Suspension Bag Split Adaptive Dynamics

Yup had the tell tale signs of the Car listing over like the Titanic when parked up. Raising the suspension revealed a perished bag done just over 93K so I guess you can't moan really.

Now annoyingly the strut itself is fine just the bag. Looking everywhere if you want a replacement bag nearly everyone says for vehicles without the adaptive dynamics. I was under the impression that the adaptive dynamics only related to the Shock Absorber not the bag? Surely Land Rover didn't develop a special bag for this suspension Laughing

I can't get hold of a part number to see if they are different or if there is anyone in the know I'd be greatful if I can just replace the bag as the ADS struts are quite expensive to replace.

Managed to get it off the car in less then 30 mins and those are the only part numbers visible Confused

The same bags as fits earlier struts fits the adaptive dynamics strut - I recently replaced one of mine as proof. Originally LR didn't list the bag as a replacement part but now do.

Replaced one of mine recently, Dan supplied a complete Dunlop / Bilstein AD strut for £235+VAT delivered - saves alot of faffing around removing / fitting the new bag to an old strut.

Nearly everyone I have seen was £600+ Big Cry

That's cheap I'll double check with Dan as a fall back option if its too much of a pain to change the bag Smile 2011 4.4 TDV8 Autobiography

Dunlop bags do not have a great reputation from owners who tried them as a cheaper alternative.....the top bearing tends to let go after @ 10K, if not sooner.... .

I replaced mine with a cheaper £130 free delivery unit. an hour to fit. reset suspension .All good so far .strut looks the business and is working fine 2 year warranty aswel .Can't see why there is such a price difference .Not a lot of point rebuilding old strut at this price fingers crossed it lasts at least the 2 years 😊

No pain at all to change the bag, just an extra step once the strut is removed.

Constantly variable dampers contain an electrically-operated bypass valve operated under ecu control - its not an ordinary shock by any means.

They still wear out though, but depending on usage could easily last longer than normal shocks. I recalibrated mine after around 60K kms of hard work as they weren't doing the job too well.

Ours has had an easy life before we purchased it spent its life trundling around the streets of London so at worst its mounted a few kerbs on the school run Laughing

Its first outing towing the horse is when the fault showed up just waiting delivery of our Arnott Bag which was £178 delivered after some shopping around 2011 4.4 TDV8 Autobiography

I thought that mine had been cut by sharp granite mud from twice daily swimming through mud-holes 2 years ago that our lane had become, with some mud still caught high up the strut when removing the bag. However the cuts look identical to your's so now suspect that it had perished, similar to reports from the US of rubbishy airbags on MY11-12 models. My right one does not look perished.
