Reduced Engine Performance

Hi, I don't use my 2010 L322 3.6 very often, so it sits outside the house for maybe a couple of weeks without being started. Got into it this morning and after starting it displayed the the reduced performance message and also the yellow engine warning light also came on. Drove the car for a few miles and then left it for 30 minutes. When I restarted, the message had gone away but the yellow engine light stayed on. Drove a bit further and then left the car fo 10 minutes, returned and now the yellow light has gone off! All now seems ok, but I am very confused, could this be as a result of a low battery having left the car for a couple of weeks? Any ideas would be helpful, or should I take it in to be checked?

Top intercooler hoses.

Good starter for 10.

Have a search. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Thanks for the tips and sorry for my tardy response! The alternator threw its hand in, so I think it is down to one of those spurious errors thrown up by a drop in voltage!

Not an easy job to sort out as the alternator is a pig too get to (and is expensive). But I am being looked after by the wonderful team at Rovertune in Reading!

The alternator itself Is a Denso unit and is available for reasonable money online. Don’t pay extra for the LR box......they should be around £250 for the unit There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Glad you said that as I already bought the Denso unit from Euro car parts for £220 including a lifetime warranty! Rovertune were perfectly happy to fit it for me.
