Would be checking the small top plenum to manifold hoses first. Sounds like a boost related issue. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

As above mine went and we replaced all four as mine had the original hoses and the replacement design is far more robust!

Looks like an easy (!!) check. Tomorrow looks like it’s going to be interesting if I can get the caravan home first!!! Wish me luck..... |

Removed the top plastic cover and everything is bone dry and no evidence of any splits or leaks/soot

The plastic manifolds can also crack that will normally be where the plastic is bonded together. Soapy water mix and the engine running might show this up should bubble if there is leak.

Under the cover everything looks brand new. I couldn’t see any splits but didn’t try the soapy water test. Fault has cleared again so it off to the supplying dealer this week. I’ll update the thread if the fault is diagnosed. |

Do you know what code is thrown up by the plenum/rubber leaks? |

A good rev I can understand it bubbling only whilst the turbo(s) are boosting though, at idle there wouldn't be any pressure there at all IMHO. BMW i3 Electric Car
