So time for an experiment Smile

Set the timed climate for 15-20 minutes before you get in the RR - that will be long enough to heat BUT only if the temp is below 15 degrees - otherwise (in theory) it will vent.

Change the batteries in your remote fob. Flashing red straight away means battery low from memory. When firing it up you should always get an amber and then either green for good or red for error. Flashing green means 'out of range'. Land Rover Addict

Did you ever resolve this as mine isn’t working now and if I try to operate it from the gap tool or even prime it, I get error E7 too?

Thanks.

Hi Ian,

Sorry to say I haven't, I actually think (hope) that when work was done to the front wing they forgot to reconnect mine, haven't got in there to look yet.

It would be really good to understand why E7 all the time though

If it's of any help, when I couldn't get the remote fob to work when we bought the car. (Yeh, should have checked it,), I opened it up and found two button batteries inside the unit. I replaced these with ONE CR1/3N battery and it paired up. (some numpty reckoned that using two 1.5volt LR something or other would be the same size as the 3 volt CR1 and work. They didn't touch the fob contacts correctly, or did not have the correct power, but got an orange flash)

Pushing the off button and getting a flashing red idicates not paired and a continuous red indicates paired.

By the way JLR say the CR1/3N is 3.3 volts, my new one gave 3.1volt and worked.

I, too have had the E7 but not gone futher yet. Cheers

Richard,

Battery changed, fob paired, and works! Well fans run Very Happy

Not a peep out of the FBH though, and still have E7.

More investigation me thinks!

Bushy Thumbs Up

I am wondering if the E7 code has something to do with a start failure or flame out after start or is a communication problem between the IID and the car. My FBH seems to operate on starting the engine or on the remote. I've just tried the IID and got E7 when trying to access the FBH. Did a hard reset and it now accesses the FBH and runs the test routines. As the car is still warm from a journey today, I may try again in the morning to see what happens with the remote and on car start, but I'll probably just add to the confusion Smile Cheers

Richard,

How do you do a hard reset?

Cheers

Bushy

This is what I understand and did.

Turn off the car by pushing the stop/start button.
Leave it for several minutes, so it goes to "Sleep" (go have a brew or a beer)
Remove the negative battery wire from its terminal
Remove the positive battery wire from its terminal.
Wait for several minutes (annoy the wife by having another beer or brew)
Touch and hold the two wires (positive and negative) together for some time. (not quite sure how long)
Reconnect the positive then negative wires to thieir terminals
And should be job done. (cebrilate with another brew and wife leaving)

Not sure on all of what this can do/reset, but this routine seems to be one answer which comes up for the fullfat quite often. Cheers

Aha, that 'hard reset', thank you - -I think the only thing I tried was pulling fuse 13 -- so I might just give this a go!

Rather than starting a new thread any suggestions getting a t91 remote to sync.
The fbh works in manual and timed.
Tried to sync the remote by disconnecting cable from transeiver waiting 10 secs and reconnecting and pressing off button on remote. Just get a few seconds of flashing red light on remote then off. The telestart is a t91 module and is next to fuse box not behind it. Car is 2012 vogue with a few factory extras.
There appears to be no fuse to remove as manual doesn't list one for fbh. I assume it sits on another circuit somewhere. Is there a way to see if the box is powered? Any suggestions greatfully received

Roger
