Shiply courier service : avoid at all cost

Hi gang,

Just a quick sum up of my experience with this company - other may have other experience of course.

I recently had to send a parcel to France and checked on shiply - they are a bit like Uber for parcels/courier

https://www.shiply.com

I was promptly contacted by several couriers, and a deal was done for the delivery.

I paid Shiply right away, £31, then got the details of the courier and wired him £90.

Since the courier was paid, he has stopped all communications (emails, texts, phone calls, etc)

I informed shiply of course, unfortunately, they say they are not responsible, they merely put couriers and customers in touch.

However, they have had this guy on their site with terrible feedback (I should have checked more indeed), and he has conned quite a few people - however, they kept him in the system. In a way, I paid this company £31 to be ripped off of £90.

They have finally removed him from the system due to more recent complaints, but warnings about him were given but several customers months ago.

Shiply will not refund the amount paid nor will offer an alternative solution. In other words, they are useless at helping customers and show no interest in doing so.

So in a nutshell, my experience leads me to think that unless one likes being conned and loose his/her hard earned cash, avoid this type of service at all cost. l=Oo\________/oO=l l:OolΞΞΞΞΞΞΞloO:l

Just to report my experience with Shiply.
A couple of years ago I sold 4 wheels with tyres on here to a member somewhere way down south, Kent, Surrey or similar

I didn’t pick the cheapest quote, but was very pleased with the deal I settled for.
One tip worth considering is that you can select payment at either end, so if you are able to opt for payment on delivery they obviously have more of an incentive to get the job done.

I have been on both ends of Shiply both courier and shipper. Shiply themselves seem ok, I agree they should have stopped the fraudulent courier pretty much how eBay would do with a trader. I haven't had any such problems with Shiply and found in general it's very cost effective and efficient service. I used to leave Gainsborough on a Monday morning and head south doing a complete circuit of the country doing pickups and drop offs around the whole circuit, I enjoyed it and it certainly kept my head above water financially, you are however as a customer at the mercy of the individual couriers. BMW i3 Electric Car

Thanks for the feedback.

The trouble is not the crook himself, but the way Shiply completely refuses to help and tells you you are on your own when they should (and could) have deleted this guy from their site.
