Been looking at some 10x22 wheels with a +45 offset for my L322.

Would I have any problems with 285/40/22? Most people seem to use 285/35/22 but I’ve worked out that it’ll give a much smaller rolling radius to the standard wheels. Taking into account tyre pressures I’m expecting the 40 profile tyres to be about the same circumference as standard.

I have 285/40/22 continental on mine . No issues at all

That looks excellent, that’s my mind made up, I’ll be going for them. Would you say they have protected your wheels ?

I changed from the 35 to the 40 when I got the new turbines . I haven’t damaged any in a year on potholes ect.. my last 22’s were scrapped as they kept cracking with the 35..

That’s my worry, I don’t want to crack or damage them in any way.

What did you do about TPMS on the new wheels?

Not that it’s entirely relevant, but 275/40/22 are the standard size for the L405

What width are the L405 wheels with the 275 tyres?

285/40/22 are perfect for two reasons, they give the correct rolling radius for 22 inch wheels on RR and the 40 profile gives more protection from curb and pothole damage for the wheels.

The magic number you need to keep in mind is 31.0 inch, so your speedo stays accurate.

wall and is correct diameter, fills wheel arch very well needs 10 inch wide wheel
295/40-22 4.6in 15.6in 31.3in 98.3in 645 0.8% Tyre is slightly larger and is within speedo
tolerances needs 10 inch wide wheel

I thought the standard diameter for the L322 was 30" - that's what a 255/50/20 would be.......

The standard width of the L405 22's is 9.5

@full fattie mines is a 2004 plate but I’ve facelifted her . Car doesn’t have tpms system yet. I’m working on that one

The wheels I seen were 10” wide although they’re the same style as yours but copies. I’ll probably go 285/40/22 for that width.

Ended up going for 285 40 22. I was tempted by a 45 profile but it was going to increase the overall size by more than I was prepared to go with. This size seemed like a good size for rim protection and was good for a 10” wheel.

Just need some wheels to wrap them around now. Probably go for turbines but not sure on colour yet.
