The keys used in the 02-05 Range Rover ARE the old keys - Circa 1991. The newer BMW keys charge, but they weren't given to the RR.

Lets face it, BMW kept all of the good tech away from the RR. Thats why the 2002 RR had the mk3 nav and the X5 had the mk4 etc.

Dont forget the auto lights, X5 had these straight away RR did't get them until 05?? BMW had the nerve to steel Range Rover tech such as HDC, air suspension and the famous split tailgate for there X5 but didn't share the X5 tech very well as illustrated with the MK3 sat nav among other things. Although i have been doing a lot of research into the L322 Range Rover design history over the last few months and the L30, BMW's code name for the new Range Rover actually started being designed and worked on in 1994, the same year the P38 was launched! so the tech that was around at the time the car was being designed would be the same tech that ended up in the production vehicle in 02. It was actually Ford that gave the new Range Rover the L322 code name in 1998 when they purchased Land Rover from BMW to bring the code name in line with the Ford model coding system. This is why it took a number of years for Ford to do any upgrades because when they purchased Land Rover in 98 the 'New Range Rover' was too far down the line to remove or change any of the systems that BMW had put in place, in fact it was part of the Land Rover sale to Ford that Ford agreed to continue to purchase BMW engines until a set date, although they were very anxious to free themselves from BMW thats where the Jag engines came from because Jag was already owned by Ford and became sister company to Land Rover that would now share engines and tech. e.g. the touch screen sat nav etc...

No I'm after this key:http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/RANGE-ROVER-SPORT-DI...27b94abfcc

I will have a IDS diagnostic system for some weeks, then I would like to try. But I need to know if the blades have the same size..
(length x width x thickness)
And the other question is where I can get a replacement keyblade?!

I looked at that case but didn't fancy having all that BMW stuff all over it. That's why I found the other one an will take longer to get here but got a good price at £11. When you get your camera take some more pics so I can have a good look.
