Air bag recall

Thought I’d post this in case anyone wasn’t aware.

My Rangie wasn’t registered with Landrover in my name, so I didn’t get the recall advice. I was lucky enough to stumble across it while researching something else.

I understood that the recall notice would not be issued until stock was allocated to your vehicle and that current owner details are retrieved from registration authorities using the VIN.

I’m not sure.

I wasn’t even aware of the issue until I stumbled across it on the internet.

I called my local dealer who confirmed the recall applied to me, and they booked me in for next week. 2007 3.6 TDV8

I wondered if I should be contacting the nearest dealer to ask what the procedure is - thanks.
Did the dealer give a time estimate?

You have to laugh at the description:

What are the hazards?
In the event of an airbag inflator rupture, metal fragments could possibly shoot out, straight through the airbag cushion material towards the vehicle occupants causing serious injury or fatality.

What should consumers do?

Can't find anything for uk cars, so is this only exported models ?
I would be surprised if it is, just asking. Too many toys, not enough time

I'd be suprised if LRUK aren't typing out the letters as we speak as my VIN is only a few off some of those on the Aus spreadsheet attachment Current

Very interesting, my UK vehicle VIN is also very close to the effected Australian VINs.
I wonder where the accident was where they found these symptoms & realised there was a major issue ?
It certainly wouldn't have been found by normal "Quality Control" !

Maybe a question needed to our LR UK Customer Service representative ! Paul,

This is where I found the recall information.

http://australiancar.reviews/reviews.php#!...mp;gen=521

This next one is for the Sport, but still some relevant info

http://australiancar.reviews/reviews.php#!...mp;gen=520

Interesting reading, particularly the potential cause of turbo charger failure and egr valve replacement interval. 2007 3.6 TDV8

Cheezels,
Very odd - was looking at the content of the Range Rover Sport Recalls link, changed websites for something else & can no longer get back into the Recall info for the RR or any other Land Rover models. Message is that the info is not available on the Server ?? Paul,

Pawl. I had that issue the other day. Not sure what causes it. I tried again after a while and the page opened up ok. 2007 3.6 TDV8

My vehicle on Topix currently lists the recall requirement.

My wife didn't want to get into ours when she saw the recall announcement on TV that included RRs - she is always a passenger.

Sorry Graeme, just my sense of humour.

I appreciate this is potentially a serious issue. Too many toys, not enough time
