It looks like we are finally getting shot of the old RRS that we use for towing so the 322's going to need a hitch fitting.

Have any of you any experience of the quality and fitting of the 'Tow Trust' detachable units?

I've priced both the 'Tow Trust' and the Westfalia and the 'Tow Trust' seems much better value for money - plus 'Tow Trust' claim the bumper doesn't need cutting...

Trouble is until last night I'd never heard of the company.

Any comments greatly received.

I had a Westphalia fitted to our L322 (2011MY TDV8, 4.4, 8 speed) and it went straight on without cutting anything. Simply replaces the bumper holder and recovery fitting and bolts on. If it requires a cut, this post may explain, as I understand it the OP had a body kit fitted by a previous owner and they apparently did not realise there was a removable panel in the kit. Get the bits back so you can keep the bar if you change the FF.

On Tow Trust, afraid I only looked at them whilst searching for bars as was intending to fit OEM.

I have a Tow Trust one fitted to mine and it is fine.

I am considering removing as I want the ability to use a farmers hitch so that I can have a ball and pin hitch as well as a normal tow ball.

Apologies for jumping in on the thread, but I'm about to fit a fixed flange towbar to my 2006 RR Vogue.

Question about removing the bumper: apparently there are some clips holding the upper edge of the side of the bumper to the lower edge of the rear wing. How are these clips 'disengaged' when removing the bumper? Pull the bumper back 1/2" and the sides should drop free, or do they need 'persuading' to release somehow?

The clips on the side of the bumper need gently pulling out of the receiver on the wing, the clips being warmed with water may help.

If you take a look on eBay at rear bumpers you will see the clips and how small they are and thus can be damaged quite easily.
