Shocked forget the car, spend the money on some serious therapy - the Bentley is. A great car, but i’ve yet to meet anyone who can defend its looks

ive worked all my life from 14 years old left school retiring later this year at 53 tbh I deserve to have something I want . ive gone without holidays not had a single day off in 6 months plus its my time . the boy will be running one of my business and my daughter the other. I have all I want in property and will be keeping the investments but time time for some fun . I do think a lot of people put the Bentley down possibly because its more than there propertys are worth new but I had a meeting last week and was driven to my hotel in one and wow so quite comfortable I was amazed . I do suppose its the wrong place to ask as all members are range rover biased! Just don't want to let the girlfriend buy another property abroad we have a place in la Rochelle as a holiday home I haven't even been ther in 10 yrs just been working all the time , its gonna be my time ive earnt it and im bloody well gonna enjoy it ! think il go shopping tomorrow and book a test drive of Bentley and if I can the new Californian Ferrari ive know what the l405 drives like I have one already in a company I own

You’re not builder 1966, he posted similar matters to you a while back?

First of all congratulations to you and best wishes for a long, healthy and happy retirement.

Hatfields in Pickering have an 18MY 5.0SC with RSE and exec seating, 1000 miles on clock, about £119,000 which might be of interest?

If you want SVO then other threads on here suggest long build times and postponements of suggested handover date, so no instant gratification and potential for annoyance.

I've not driven a Bentayga, but IMHO they do look better in real life than on pictures. The cabin trim is a bit more opulent than the RR, but it seems less practical to me, and also a bit fussy, lots of dials, switches etc and I have seen the stitching on the quilted seats look a bit fuzzy even on lower mileage cars (not a problem with the diesel which has plain seats, I prefer them).

According to a friend Bentley servicing/repair costs are a lot more than RR, though if you are used to Ferrari maybe not a problem to you. Going by comparisons with the SVA the Bentleys are more road cars, with better handling, whereas the RR will be better off road (though the SVA less so as it has lower suspension I think). Bentleys are more unusual so you'd maybe get more attention, not all of it positive, as there are so many RRs around they seem to attract less envy.

I could not be bothered with waiting for ages, but subject to that would buy the RR. Only Range Rovers since 1988

I've just taken delivery of an SVAutobiography Dynamic, having previously had an extended test drive of a Bentayga W12 with almost every option ticked.

The SVA-D is simply no comparison to the Bentayga - the build quality has stepped up so much from my 15MY Range Rover and I think it's a better car in almost every way. There is less of an 'image problem' turning up in an SVO Range Rover than a Bentayga to be honest. I have a Bentley GTC V8S Mulliner too and the build quality on that is excellent but some of the materials are definitely inferior quality to the SVO Range Rover - particularly carpet and switchgear.

Plus people with Bertie’s wealth and in his position don’t usually feel the need to broadcast it to everyone as they have nothing to prove or to have to justify themselves - wealthy people usually JUST do it Thumbs Up 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17

I was in Glasgow Bentley the other week. 9 Bentayga's by the looks of it, sold everything else but them so personally would be avoiding.

The new Bentley GT is a superb inside but after a Rolls Royce showroom visit in Edinburgh the other day I have top say if it was no money an issue I'd be buying a Phantom Drophead. No idea where you can actually go in it as it's so big but what a spec inside!!

For me FFRR as the best 4x4 all round, but if money is no object why not go for a Cullinan or whatever it's called and kill two birds with the one stone.

No idea who the 1966 chap was so will watch this avidly!! lol

P all smug in my new plug!
