cheers Phil makes sense,but the oil was like new and no filings at all in the oil or magnet,which i would have thought would be there if the shaft was broken. Mercedes AMG w207

Did you replace the torque converter, or is it the original?

The Torque Converter looked like its was a week old lol so used the one supplied with the replacement gearbox,the gearbox is so so smooth to my old unit but just wont change,what do you mean by clutch lock up is this a solenoid driven part ? Mercedes AMG w207

My gearbox was the same was told it was a shaft inside the box so removed the box and replaced it with the box from an x5
