I don't think they were negligent if i'm being honest, but i had a feeling that once we had the safety recall an issue would arise as a result. Dealers also charge ridiculous labour rates and parts. Would it be better to take elsewhere?

On older vehicles there does seem a risk of air bags tearing when the vehicle is on a lift and the wheels hang off and apply weight to the bags. It happened to my 2004 car when it was on the dealer's lift. Annoying. They told me what had happened and said it did happen from time to time. I just paid for them to replace the bag, as the easiest solution, it is not a very time consuming job, better value for me than shopping around when the cost of my time was taken into account.

12 year old car - it goes with the territory I am afraid look at it the other way round if you were a dealer working on a 12 yr old car with perished air bags and got blamed you would be pretty miffed about it and simply refuse to work on it again - I know I would if it was perished it was going to go sooner rather than later in any event and it’s just unfortunate for them it happened when they were doing the recall 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17 |

Perhaps now might be a good time for the OP to revise the title of the thread? |
