Sorry to hear about this Craig! I had a similar experience with BMW...an Approved Used X5...brakes in a dreadful state and an air filter blocked with dust/flies, both of which passed the ‘thorough, comprehensive approval process’

Thank you gents... The point of this thread is to pre warn members as to how some dealers conduct themselves... Im not after retribution or causing chaos/trouble for anyone (though thanks for the offer Scott)

A small update. My battery failed and LR Assist was called. He found an aftermarket Start Stop battery was the cause! Another thing the LR used car check should have flagged up! Amusing as the car wouldn't start before the test-drive and the salesman told me on handover that the battery had been thoroughly checked and fully charged and was in great health
