I've now tried mounting my dashcam to the windscreen 3 times with the sticky pads supplied and each time it's fine for about a week and then just falls off

Might also be an idea to heat the glass up to avoid any condensation issues in this cold weather. Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

Rob is the cable pulling it too tightly away from the screen?

The cables aren't really "pulling" at the dashcam and are mainly tucked into the headlining. I've tried genuine 3m pads, adhesives etc and they all work to varying degrees.

Have you tried a small suction cup as supplied by many dash Cams? Ours is fitted in our i3 (not got around to the RRFF yet) and it’s been in there since last September without dropping off, just make sure the screen area is clean and slightly dampen the cup before fitting. David

Before fitting any device, suction cups or sticky pads I would suggest cleaning the screen area with methylated spirits.

I would use a moistened clay bar to remove all contaminants, polish dry, then stick. You might be surprised by the amount of filth that’s actually on an apparently clean piece of glass. |
