2005 Range Rover Vogue Td6 Buckingham Blue
Do you think I've got grounds to complain?

Recently a friend of mine drove my car and given his height (bout 6ft 6) he adjusted the seat accordingly, after this the headrest stopped working, as I recently bought the car from a main dealer it came with a 'landrover' warranty the car is a 2005 so it's not the same warranty you get when you buy a new car, I took the car into the dealer and they sorted the problem basically it was a loose wire which is what I thought it might have been, anyway the dealer said the problem wasn't covered as it was a wiring problem but to me this wire shouldn't have come off in the first place, so do you think I have grounds to complain to Landrover about this? Many thanks ben

Unfortunately I guess you signed some sort of paperwork when you bought the car? This would have had the T's & C's of the warranty there, of which the responsibility is on you to check.

LR customer care are notoriously rude and unhelpful, so I doubt you'll get anywhere with them.

I think its a case of chalk it up to experience.

In future don't buy from a LR dealer - you have 0 extra protection over buying private or a small dealer and you just pay more.

What you want is a dealer with a reputation to uphold. LR Dealers treat people like crap because the cars are always in demand.

got to agree with Dan

most of these warranties are worthless - there are so many exclusions/get out clauses

a friend works for the largest supplier of UK warranties and those are his words!

save money and buy privately

No, as said before. Approved warranty is not the same as 3 year from new one. Even if sold by a Land Rover dealer.

It would depend on when you bought it, and what if any conversation you had when it went in for repair.
If a recent purchase then they should fix it under good will at the very least, imo. Ian
