We had a 2011 R172 SLK 200 in Cavansite Blue a few years ago.
Obviously, when it comes to Top Trumps, the V6 350 and V8 55 are clear winners, the latter being an uncommon sight on our roads.
However, the Kompressor 200 is a nice drive. Revs freely, pulls well - it's a small car - and for real world driving and weekend fun, more than up to the job. They do have suspension on the firm side (by my standards) but you don't get jiggled around overly much.
The seals for the folding roof on all models need to be treated regularly with something like Gummi Pfledge to keep them pliable and working as intended.
The roof mechanism uses micro-switches and on older cars, there's one or two that can play up. Older models (R170/171) headlight 'glass' reacts to UV light over time and becomes opaque so needs polishing and protecting.
Equipment wise they're normally reasonably well equipped but they've been around long enough to have options when it comes to fitting aftermarket stuff like infotainment etc.
A good site to peruse and search is https://forums.mbclub.co.uk and I mention that because there's something in the back of my mind about the 320/350 engine...... before a certain date (on the R170/1) they have a known issue (M112 E32 engine??).
There's probably more but we replaced it wth an SL350 for a while before leaving Merc altogether so it's all a little hazy when it comes to the SLK200.
