Auto Headlights Problem

Hi all.

I have just purchased a 2006 4.2SC as an upgrade for my 2002 TD6.

The headlights are a bit random on how they work.

With the switch Off/O on the switch, the headlights are on.
With it in sidelights they work on sidelights only.
With it on they work and with it on auto they are on all the time.

Any ideas where to start or look at?

Thanks in advance.

DD

Maybe someone has used a diagnostic tool to set them as daytime running lights.....

Are the rear lights on also when the switch is in the off O position?

Otherwise maybe the light sensor near the rear view mirror is faulty and it thinks it’s dark.

Not had this issue so I’m guessing....others who have had issues will be along soon....

Indeed Sir you will be right... and having done about 5k in it now I drive it every where I can.

I do about 35 - 40k a year for work so it's going to be one hell of a smile!!! Laughing

Oh great!!

I've just done a rebuild of the whole of the rear suspension, as it squeaked!

I have the dreaded squeak too, did you manage to pinpoint it in the refurb?

I think it was the top bushes on the drivers side, on mine.

They were very tight when I started disconnecting things.

When I unbolted from the hub the top arm went upwards and didn't move, but until I started taking it apart I couldn't be sure.
