2014 Range Rover Vogue SDV8 Nara Bronze
Bouncy suspension

Over the last few weeks Ive noticed the ride on my sdv8 getting bouncier and crashier, notably on motorways etc where the car seems to pitch up and down as though its poorly damped. I remember Carlos mentioned it ages ago, but I don't recall if there was an outcome. Ride height appears to be normal and still corners flat.

Any ideas what could be wrong? I dare say after keeping the car for a week and using £30 of my diesel, the dealer will tell me its perfectly normal so any pointers before I book it in would be appreciated. '14.5 SDV8 Nara Bronze for sale

Do you feel any shudder via the drivers seat and do your headlights 'bounce' on uneven surfaces at night?

No, not really, its more pitching back and forwards like a boat riding the waves. Feels like the adaptive damping maybe not working as well as it should.

It felt worse this morning but better this evening. Wondering if its auto terrain response related? '14.5 SDV8 Nara Bronze for sale

Hey Doodle, was interested in your comment about "bouncing" headlights...... mine does something like that, not sure if I'd call it "bouncing" or "vibrating". Is this a symptom of something else...?

Had this issue on both 405's. On second one, the height sensors were replaced (Offside Front and Rear) which transformed both ride quality and headlight behaviour to acceptable.

A touch of off-roading, or a pothole can throw them out it seems. I found the 322 much sturdier in this respect.

PS. Should have added: Confused Height sensors control auto headlight leveling I believe, hence the improvement.

Nice one Doodle Thumbs Up , may be unrelated but Ive recently noticed the shoulder of the offside front tyre wearing a lot quicker then the nearside and the car ever so slightly pulls to the left if yiu let go of the steering wheel. Its definately not had a knock but something clearly is not right. Time to get it booked in. '14.5 SDV8 Nara Bronze for sale

All fixed! Thumbs Up

Two new front struts fitted. Feels like a completely different car to drive. Hadnt realised how sloppy the suspension and steering had got. Still got an ongoing claim with LR however as the two front tyres are shot around the shoulders (still 6mm tread in the middle). At the moment they're saying its fair wear and tear given the near 40k mileage. Not sure who theyre employing in the warranty department but if they cant figure theyre not the original set of tyres they maybe need to find a different avenue of employment! Rolling Eyes

They also (touch wood) have sorted the intermittent stalling problem when cold....faulty crankshaft position sensor.

That and a couple of niggles (creak in the sunroof frame and the powered boot which had a mind if its own) came to total invoice of.......£4k! Shocked Glad its still under warranty. '14.5 SDV8 Nara Bronze for sale

Im now experiencing the same problem. Warranty only changed ARB and brackets which fixed the crashing but i still have the experience of the car wallowing all over the road and Landrover saying there is nothing wrong Sad L405 SDV8 Autobiography

I ended up have new front struts and height sensors. This made a slight improvement but it did not full solve it.
Since then I’ve also has the ARC changed and something on the rear but they did not say what not is it on the job sheets.
What eve the first Bally thing they changed it worked. Essentially though everything has been refreshed L405 SDV8 Autobiography
