Valet mode would not prevent this happening at all.

My apologies - thought it also restricted performance. just re-read the HB and yes valet mode just locks things. 405 AB exec seats Baltic and Cirrus 93 RR Classic efi Remember it's easier to get forgiveness than permission! To be fair, they used a non-approved operator, which is asking for trouble. Of course that doesn't excuse what happened, but Gatwick for example has a list of approved operators. I used one such recently (I know, I know, but I was persuaded by my mates who assured me it would be fine) and they drove the car 28 miles and left toenail clippings on the car's floor! But, they didn't crash it or scratch it, and they gave us a full refund.
