Door Cable Failure (interior handle)

I have a feeling the cable that operates the interior handle is on its way out. I had the exterior one fail on my last car and it's got that same "notchy" feeling.

Question for those who have had the cable fail: Did the interior handle get really tough to open?

Saw that, but this is the interior handle rather than exterior.

I'm really concerned that if the interior one goes then neither the interior OR exterior handle will work. Other threads on other foums have hinted at this...

i believe there are two cables, one goes from the outside to the lock and one from the inside to the lock... ... - .- -.
