My first ever RR, couldn't be happier :)

Hello everyone! Smile

I've had a proper small workhorse car for the last 5 years, and before that tended to get cheap cars and spend my vehicle money on sports bikes. My faithful little workhorse has been getting tired and for the last couple of years I kept considering replacing it with something nice, and kept drawing up shortlists of cars spanning quite a range and umming and ahhing but never pulling the trigger.

Range Rovers were always in that list as something I loved the look and presence of, something that could handle anything I would want or need to do, and something that just has a certain air about it that kept drawing me in.

At the beginning of April the MoT was due on the workhorse and being sensible I thought I'd better have a look at what's about in case it failed and wasn't worth repairing to get through.

And then I stumble upon this one (photos below) and I just fell in love and knew I had to have it. A quick research of the dealer turned up no tales of calamity or rip off so I gave them a call and heard nothing to turn me away so I jumped at it Smile

2008 Vogue SE 3.8 TDV8 with plenty of options factory fitted and a full service history, 94k miles.

I've had her three weeks now and I've done about 600 miles. Can't fault it, it's everything I could have hoped for it to be and so much more, totally sold on FFRR's so far and keep finding excuses to drive it.

It was missing the towing eye cover on the front, and the passenger side air intake bezel cover so I ordered those and fitted them, and I've noticed that the passenger side mirror is the older style but seeing the prices of them (!) that can wait for now, it will get swapped over at some point though. Also got hold of a fitted mat set front and back to replace the valeting paper!

So far I've not noticed anything to cause concern, everything I've tried works and she runs and rides beautifully.

The leather could do with some love, especially the drivers seat, the wheels would benefit from a refurb, and the paint is going to get some love and care but aside from that the plans are just to make sure it's looked after properly and enjoyed Smile

Thanks Darryl and Mr G Thumbs Up

The photos that went into the first post are from before I had a chance to give it a decent clean because for some reason the other ones kept erroring...

...I've just figured out they were too large so here is another one after a good wash (the white mark on the front wing and what look like scratches on the wheel arch are actually reflections).

Nice looking car.

Having had one.....

Job 1. Take off the top intercooler hoses and check them for splits around the webbing. 5 min screwdriver job, there’s a how to repair in the wiki. If they are OK then order a set for when they go, nice and cheap and easy Thumbs Up

Job. Pray for floods and snow. Twisted Evil There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

That looks just like the one we bought yesterday and will be picking it up later today or tomorrow, but your interior is the direct opposite to ours......we normall always go for light interiors but having seen so many light leather of this age that have really worn drivers side bolsters we saw ours with black but light seat centres and piping, must admit the black leather seems to last better at the seat bolster but the leather still needs a good cleaning.

Hopefully we will get to love the darker interior, but at least it also has the light headlining and trim from shoulder up.

Fingers crossed we both made the right decision. Very Happy

Ah nice, you'll have to show it off here once you've picked it up Smile

And you're right the light bolsters have suffered on the drivers seat on mine and that might be a very good move to have gone for it in reverse. It will be interesting to see how much better a light centre copes.

We to be honest still would have preferred a light interior but the one we found was too good to pass.

I hope it is a compromise we get used to.

Certainly will post a few piccies, that’s a point.....do we need a host to post piccies or can they be uploaded to the site? All my old picture are still stuck on Photobucket since they tried to blackmail everyone. Mad
