VRT (vehicle registration tax) must be paid on application to register the car in Ireland which is charged at 36% of the open market selling price. So in the case of the first one, about €82,000.

36% is only on the highest CO2, these being 750e to tax would be a lower %. If buying it in the UK would have to pay the VRT here than 23% VAT if the jeep is less than 6 months and 6,000 Kms, so a person would Ideally leave it in the UK for 6 months and have 6k on it come reg time in Ireland! |

So, a quick check on the vrt calculator shows the rate to be 34%. The car configuration above comes in at 73,100euro. Not far off my educated guess. Road tax comes to 1200euro on a CO2 of 219.

VRT is fairly locked down these days however N1 business class is now available on the L405 model so that's a big saving on tax and VRT. If you moved from the UK to Ireland no VRT will apply as long as you reach their critia.

N1 business class. Does that mean crew cab or some other mod? I know the L322 can no longer be crew cabbed which is a grest pity. I missef the deadline by 2 weeks 2007 Vogue TDV8 in Zermatt Silver with Charcoal |

It is Grofus, my 3.6 was N1 ( 5 seat business class) and my 4.4 l322 is. Huge saving on tax. The guy I buy my cars from called in last week to tell collect a Cert of shipment for a Lambo we brought in for him and he told me its now possible. Since then i have seen two advertised as N1. I can ask him if he can get a l322 done if you like ? 2015 4.4 AB

If your jeep is registered as an Estate or M1 on VRT already or pay the full VRT on a new import, then crew cab is possible. Will only get away with this with full VRT paid otherwise they will come after you if only paid the 13.3% VRT (commercial) and potential of fines. It's a mine field and only open until July so need to be done quick |
