Wales 2019 Range Rover SVAutobiography 5.0 SC V8 Loire Blue

Gents,
As I was the OP of this thread I would like to add a bit of info.
( I have posted recently elsewhere on the forum the same thing)

Since my original post Ghost now have an updated system called Ghost Autowatch-II which has supposedly ironed out the previous problems which LR’s were being affected by.

So with this information and also my desire to get a dash cam fitted at the same time to keep a record of when the car is parked as well I contacted SVO to clarify all was well.

The reply I had was basically my Land Rover Warranty will be null and void if there is a Ghost system fitted on the car,and the dash cam also, unless it is a stand alone cam where it is not permanently wired into the vehicle. Censored Censored

If any of you still have the LR Warranty on your cars then please note.

I have been advised that LR do have an authorised system which can be fitted so I am just waiting to confirm booking in to get it done.

As I understand it has a similar system to Phils, in where it has a Credit card type “card” which even if the thief has cloned or physically has the keys they will not be able to start the car and it also has an App to inform you if anyone is trying to steal your car.

It is all well and good having a tracker but that only helps you find the car after it has been knicked which is like shutting the gate after the horse has bolted Whistle Whistle 19MY SVA-Dynamic Spectral Chromoflair Blue but colour not available in profile

LR’s stance on hard wiring a dashcam seems inappropriate and I would robustly test their opinion if required. Technically I don’t see any difference between accessing a live feed from the fuse box or a 12v socket, especially if you use a fused device that switches off the dashcam either after a fixed time or when the battery voltage drops below a predefined level. MY23 D350 HSE

After speaking with a reportable installer they tell me that the main difference is that the II is a unit made by someone else however the software is fundamentally the same, the II can now have 2 mobiles linked to it with two tags if you don’t want the app on your phone.

I’m also told that the software issues dependant on being a I or II we’re constantly being updated so someone who has had the system installed a few years is likely to see and improvement on taking it back to a dealer and having them flash the software if they have ongoing issues, certain year Range Rover with some other manufactures need to have an inline relay fitted however they apparently will work to some degree without this however can cause electric warning message/faults etc

For anyone else who reads this in the future I spoke to around 8 local ish installers, they fell into 2 camps. Nearly all mentioned that an additional relay maybe required due to the year but then some said the install was likely to have faults especially around the gearbox and tried to talk away completing the job where as others said there were known issues but they worked with Autowatch to ensure the latest software flash for that model was put on and they wired them as autowatch advised so there shouldn’t be an issue.

I too have the LR InControl Tracker App. The Meta Trak is a completely separate and additional system. No problems with it at all. It’s as if it isn’t there. The Meta App is great for monitoring various aspects of the RR including battery voltage. MY23 D350 HSE

Hi Johnboy,

There is definitely a system that is LR approved and will not affect your warranty. I’m still waiting for the booking confirmation. As soon as I have all the details I’ll let you know Thumbs Up 19MY SVA-Dynamic Spectral Chromoflair Blue but colour not available in profile
