JLR must have had a press day at Blenheim Palace recently.

Neither news source provides any new information, unfortunately, although the YouTube reviewer does say the transfer between electric and petrol is smooth which previously unclear due to the PHEV being a pre-prod car.

I like the idea of a PHEV but don't have the sheckles to buy new. A second hand car a year or two old will be a risk as the warranty will last two years and then you need an extended one to cover any problems. Not so much a problem until you realise the battery has an 8 year guarantee. If it needs to be replaced a dealer told me the cost is over £10k. So does that mean the resale value drops through the floor to account for the possibility of a new battery once it hits about year 5/6?
Also I tow a 2500kg caravan all over Europe every year for about 6 weeks so it can cope with 2.5 tonnes but what happens when I'm driving 200 miles towing? Am I now towing a very heavy caravan with a 2.0ltr petrol (Car and van together tip the scales at over 5.0 tonnes) as the battery has become flat? How would I recharge the battery on site where the electric feed is 6A? Can I recharge at the services with my caravan attached?
Unfortunately the idea just doesn't seem to add up so I'll need to stick with a diesel. For which I'll be lambasted and financially ruined by all the do gooders who don't need a big tow car to enjoy their hobby. I would love to be able to drive a PHEV FFRR as so much of my driving whilst at home is short journeys to drop kids to the pub and quick shopping trips which I'm sure the PHEV would be very good at. It's just when you need it to do the heavyweight stuff it may suffer from a lack of stamina. Does anyone have one and have experience of towing something more than a trailer load to the tip?
