Scratch Removal

Hi

I stupidly parked my FFRR in a Tesco car park near the door yesterday evening, and picked up a scuff/scratch on my drivers door. GRRR, carless Censored ! Thankfully it does not look like its dented the door, but the scuff is through the clear lacker.

Before I buy a touch up paint from LR, has anyone had any success with any other scratch removal products.

If not, I will overfill the light scratch with touch up paint using a cocktail stick, then flatten the back using Langka blob remover.

Cheers

That's what the (single) mother and (many) baby spaces are for!

Your technique is correct - you cant get rid of a scratch unless you fill the scratch, preferably with paint. But obviously you can use the wax lipstick type things too. OK if you're selling the car, but comes off after a couple of washes.

Chipsaway have repaired several of this type of scratch for me - 1 on my 2 day old Monte Carlo Blue TD6 FFRR - they did the repair so well the dealer couldn't see it when I sold the car............... and their own body shop quoted more than £400 to do the job when Chipsaway did it for £60. Chipsaway are a franchise mobile paint repairers who will come to your house or work - I have heard that not all of the franchises are as good as others. 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes
