InControl - bit disappointed....

......frosty this morning so used the InControl app to start the car (2017 MY).

Worked fine - but would have hoped that it would have turned on the heated screen (and perhaps the seats). I get that it’s an all year round app, but there are enough sensors to know when it’s below freezing and only turn them on then.

If the car’s engine is on, there shouldn’t be a battery issue (the usual fall back for any heated screen related come backs).

Anyhow, first world problems, but glad to have got that off my chest.

Am I being too hopeful to think that an LR rep would read this and and it to a software update? Shocked

If that is your only issue, count your lucky stars.
At least it works.
You leave preheat on long enough the car will defrost windows
Best of luck with LR

LR seemed to have changed the In-Contol App comparing MY16 with MY17. Both vehicles have the park heater. With the MY16 you could start the Park Heater from the App. For the MY17 it appears you can only turn on the engine and heat or cool it, but can not operate the Park Heater to heat it.

How daft is that? Does anyone know any better? MY23 D350 HSE

My MY17 Vogue doesn’t have a park heater.

It doesn't matter as far as the App is confirmed, it now only allows you to start the vehicle rather than start the park heat, which I find annoying having been able to start the park heat previously using the app.

BTW I agree it's disappointing that it doesn't allow you to control other settings such as the seat heaters and heated windscreen. JLR are way behind other manufacturers. MY23 D350 HSE

My 2016 RR "InControl" is absolutely garbage, its good for nothing. Its activated until 2021. My Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit is Outstanding in comparison! What a disgrace for a brand like land Rover!!!
