Interlock code emergency de-activation

This is a post script to a topic I started last August. Unable to start vehicle after flat battery as looking for access code or wait 9.59 but not counting down. One respondent was on the right track, asking if I had changed the instrument pack which I had not. After recovering to a specialist who admitted they hadn't come across the problem before, they managed to get it started by disconnecting and reconnecting the instrument pack, which then allowed the timer to count down. On their recommendation I have since fitted a second hand instrument pack and vehicle starting fine. However, I am still nervous about what will happen if the battery goes flat again! Hope this might help someone else. Gerry.
