Update on this, yep as suspected vacuum pump failure! New part fitted and all working again. Now just discussing with customer support the little issue of me scuffing the rear wheel and arch trying to get it in to the drive in ice and snow instead of abandoning it on the side of the road for the 5 days it took to retrieve it back to dealer!! |

Sorry to hear you damaged your new car, I ended scuffing a wheel when I pulled off the road to let a snow plough past to do his job, luckily 2 hours with my electric polisher and very mild cutting compound removed the scratches.

Hi Paul, so far no definitive answer but have started to apply some pressure in regards to repairs, I do have a very clear dashcam footage with out any swearing of me nearly hitting the back of the bus! There were no warning signs at all I set off that morning with caution as it was snowy and appreciate the big wide wheels are not perfect for icy/ snowy conditions and was mainly using the gears to slow down, until the bus pulled over in front of me and when I went to apply the brakes there was nothing. My car is the 4.4 TDV8 with 1140 miles on the clock from new. I did look online and I believe the pump is the same in both cars, here is the part number if you would like to check.
