TDV8 Rear Shocks

So after the alternator was fixed, now have a leaky rear shock which is now thumping away over any bump. Priced replacements from Dan which are eye wateringly expensive >£300 each!

Been on tinterwbs and there are also Bilsteins listed at a lower cost :https://www.island-4x4.co.uk/rear-shock-absorber-l322-tdv8-bilstein-rpd500760-p-35443.html

What am I not seeing here? Listing states it will fit, any ideas why some are handed and others not?

Think the time is coming to get into a newer one, starting to feel like triggers broom maintenance is a few brakedowns away!

Does your vehicle have CVDs or standard shocks? CVDs are handed, standard are not.

That's basically why i'm getting confused, Dan quoted £309 each, so I'm worried that the £85 jobs won't fit.

Hmm, when my rear shocks (2012) started leaking I was quoted about £80, but was then told on here that that would be relevant only to earlier cars, you might want to double check that what worked on a 2007 car will work on a 2010. Only Range Rovers since 1988

Just by way of illustration, the Rimmer Bros website shows 'up to 2007' shocks at around the £80 mark depending on whether OEM etc and then later shocks at £270 or so. Only Range Rovers since 1988

CVDs were first introduced for MY10 and were standard on some configurations around the world but perhaps standard on UK models. CVDs were fitted to all MY11/12 vehicles.

Bilstein make a CVD version which are substantially cheaper than genuine and they have the external reservoir like the genuine.
