55" TV (boxed) in the back of a L405 ?

Hi, anyone managed to transport a 55" boxed TV in the back of a L405 ? the box dimensions look like they would actually just fit behind the front seats in-between the back seats but I don't think you would be able to get the box in the side door ?

I think it will fit in the rear but I have executive seating that doest go anywhere near flat so I don't think I can stand it upright either ?

Any experience greatly appreciated Thumbs Up 2021 P400 Silicon Silver AB

I successfully transported a (boxed) 75" TV in the back of my old L322.... but that involved laying the back seats down and it was at a slight angle to fit....

With regards the L405 - without being able to fold the seats down, I think you'll struggle.... unless you can 'post' it over between the rear seats and the roof? Andrew.

I think the angled route might be the only way to go Thumbs Up just wanted to try and get it upright because I need to move it to the french alps Laughing and they are supposed to stay upright. 2021 P400 Silicon Silver AB

They are stronger upright - when horizontal it is much easier to flex them and crack the screen.

Is it a TV you already have ? Can't you get one delivered in France ?

Hi Alistair, yes it's not needed here any more and I have a need for a new one in my chalet, its still quite new so worth the effort IF I can transport it safely, I'll test fit it at the weekend and see how it looks Thumbs Up 2021 P400 Silicon Silver AB

Former home automation designer / installer here: it's actually a HUGE no-no to transport a screen this size horizontally, due to the risk of the screen shattering. The more recent they are, the thinner they are and the chassis of the TV isn't rigid enough to deal with horizontal transport.

Do it if you have no other option, but it's a terrible idea to begin with. These need to be transported vertically. To be crystal clear, this means resting on it's bottom edge, in the original box.

You could alleviate some of the risk by unboxing it and laying it down on a mountain (emphasis on MOUNTAIN) of bubble wrap, but that's risky too.

Just to finish this post off in case any one searches for it, the answer is, yes you can fit it upright behind the seats but I couldn't really get my seat in a comfortable enough position to be able to drive down to France. Absolutely fine to pick up from Currys but not for a long journey Thumbs Up

It does Stan but gives me absolutely no vision out the back. Again fine for a trip to Currys but not for a 600 mile trip. 2021 P400 Silicon Silver AB

I've regularly done long distances with it loaded to the roof. On the motorways it's really just the side mirrors I use anyway.

As soon as you tow, there's nothing to see in the rear mirror anyway.

You can also turn the backup camera on whilst driving so the screen can become a replacement rearview camera. When I have my wolfhound in the boot there is no rear visibility when he stands up. Vans often don't have a rearview mirror so I would go for a comfortable driving position over rear visibility. Hope you have a safe trip.

I took one to France, but they sell them there as well!!!! I was pleasantly surprised by the price from an indi, the supermarkets still knock them out. Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Emissions Analytics worked with........etc etc
