VSE - rear dvd screens

I think these were stock on 07 ish cars (I imagine you could delete them) but did they stop being a stock item after that? I keep seeing 08/09 cars without them but rarely earlier ones?
Did they become a cost option?
Is it any easier to retro fit on a vse then a standard vogue?

Can’t imagine it’s cheap or easy to retro fit....but anything possible I imagine.

No HD video input though....
