Best AGM Battery

Hi guys,

Need to change my AGM battery on 4.4 TDV8 soon and wondered what opinions are out there for the best battery? I’ve looked at Exide, Varta, Bosch or Land Rovers own. The current battery is a 90Ah 850CCA Jaguar Land Rover type with Exide also printed on top. Chris

I get the low power shutdown message after a couple of minutes of radio on while engine off. Chris

I think you will still get that message even with a new battery.
I have always had the same message, but no other dodgy battery symptoms.

The low battery message seems to appear frequently with these cars. I believe there is a software update available for this. I have also read elsewhere on this forum that the alternator on 2011-12 cars gives less aggressive charging to improve fuel consumption. I have one of these cigarette lighter voltmeters which often shows just 11.5v prior to start with a fairly new AGM battery. I have learned just to ignore the low battery message, and occasionally top up with a CTEK battery charger during the winter months, especially when doing a series of short trips or if using the pre-heater.
I wouldn't change the battery just yet. 2011 Vogue TDV8 4.4

But if someone wants to shell out for a new AGM every time a low battery warning light pops up....who are we to stop them?

Odyssey or Northstar if you want the best, Just fitted a group 31 Northstar agm to my 2010 which took some very minor modifications to make the terminal fit on the positive post.. ill post with pics in a new thread later in the day or tomorrow
