Service Plan

Gents,

Could someone please confirm if there is or is not a Service Plan for the Full Fat Range Rover?

I’ve put in an order for a new car and I’ve only ever had Range Rover Sports where there has been a Service Plan available.

My dealer told me that there maybe, Rolling Eyes, in the near future, Land Rover bringing a Service Plan out as demand is high Question

If they don’t, do I have to just suck it up and pay main dealer service costs or would the route to go be an Independent bearing in mind the car will be brand new Question

Anyone have any thoughts Thumbs Up

It’s been an anomaly for a while - given they share engines and most other serviceable components, it seems very odd that there’s one for the sport but not the FF

Main dealer whilst under warranty then straight to an indy IMHO

I asked for a Service plan estimate from Stratstones
they offered me in 2017 the following for a Land Rover Range Rover 3.0 TDV6 Diese

3 years servicing @ £1,400
5 years servicing @ £2,300
using land Rover standard pricing

I did not take up the plan as the girl on the service desk, who calculated the costs, said she thought it was too expensive various other LR's this one is still the best

Al and Phil,

Thanks for the replies, you never know by the time I get my car, which is September at the moment, LR might kindly have introduced it...... Whistle Whistle but at the moment it’s a bite the bullet while under warranty with a stealer and an indie after that.

Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

You can still take it out up to 90 days after buying the car if they ever decide to offer it, but I think this might be a standard Sales answer if put on the spot as to why it’s not offered Rolling Eyes It certainly never materialised for me.

It is a pain though and yes, it does drive customers to the Indies.

I've got a new car arriving beginning of March and when I ordered in Nov I was told there is no service plan on a FFRR.

Independant dealers (if they are a good one),are the way to go for servicing, I've done it with all my LR cars in the passed and they are way, way cheaper. Also, as long as a garage (any garage) uses LR approved parts and fills in the correct paperwork no warranty is lost.

I have just moved over from a Disco 4 to a 2015 FFRR 4.4 AB Very Happy

The Disco had a 2 year service plan administered by EMAC and it was serviced by Lancaster main dealer. I called EMAC today asking if they could transfer the plan over to the RR. They did so without any problem. They did ask me to confirm I was going to continue to use Lancaster, notwithstanding I purchased the car from another main dealer group.

It was clear during the conversation that EMAC do not cover all dealers. You can't swim uphill in custard all the time, sometimes you just have to go with the flow.

I think you may have misunderstood here.

We’re talking about a service plan that covers the cost of all of the dealer services for 5 years, or 50,000 miles, from new rather than an extended warranty. I had a service plan on my own D4, but it’s not available on the FF Evil or Very Mad

Having done just the same swap, how are you finding the 4.4 AB?

Absolutely loving it. Brings an even bigger smile to my face when driving it than the Disco did. Can’t understand why I didn’t change it earlier. So much more refined and relaxed driving. Still getting to grips with some of the ‘toys’ it comes with. You can't swim uphill in custard all the time, sometimes you just have to go with the flow.

I took out a 3 year service plan with local LR dealer but I understand that it was a dealer product and not an LR product. I asked four different dealers for quotes, one said that they don't offer a service plan and the other three were more or less similar. Saving was about 20% but I paid up front so whilst bad for my cash flow it is inflation proof. I also managed to negotiate free MOT's in this. I hate that ringing round routine, not knowing if you are comparing like with like when you get varying prices and I can forget about it now.

I have a service plan on my L405administered by EMAC. I was sold it by Harwoods and I took it out after the first service. It covers three annual services and one MOT and cost £1380 which is payable in monthly instalments. I think that an average price of just under £450 is reasonable and I am not at risk of price increases.

I do about 12,000 per annum but I am not sure that it is mileage dependent although I did give that as an approximate annual mileage
