Lowering a 2005 l322 with IID tool

Ok, I realise this may get frowned upon but my l322 is just too high especially compared with an L405

I'd like to lower it but just checking I understand how before I do anything.

I have a non Bluetooth IID tool and when I go into the height set up it gives several options....

Standard height - adjust all - I take it however many mm I set here it will adjust the running height.

Access height - currently says - 40mm which is, I'm guessing how many mm it will lower from the standard height once access is selected. If so I may need to increase this after I've lowered the standard height.

Motorway height - this worries me a bit because if I don't adjust this and I lower the standard height by say 15mm, that means it will drop to almost access height at 70mph. I'm guessing I should change this to around -5mm

Off road height - never use it so I'll leave it alone.

Any thoughts? Am I correct in what I'm saying?

Thanks chaps.

Have a look on the GAP diagnostics website and look for or download the manual. It goes into detail on the height changing method and consequences. I think it even gives examples of changes and how to complete them.. ______________________________

on the 2002-2005 FF's you can adjust each mode separately which is handy if you just want to get the access height a bit lower than it is..

whichever mode you adjust Paul, make the adjustments in small increments [around 5-6mm] and try it for a few days and see if you like it..
remember that you can go back to the original settings if you mess up.. ... - .- -.

Cheers guys, I'll have a play with it later on.

I'm thinking of dropping the running height 10 - 15mm. I'll see what the access height is like after that and adjust it up a little if needed.

The motorway height ideally needs to be the same so I think l will probably need to raise it a little after I've adjusted the standard height.

I'm just trying to make it look a bit nicer as it's far too high for city use how it is and obviously eliminate a bit of body roll.

Unnecessary quote removed

I've dropped my L322 as i think it rides too high and has no effect on the motorway height ...

Mine is an early model where the car drops when reaching 50mph rather than the later cars 70mph.

When it says - 20mm on the IID for motorway setting, is that -20mm from the original running height then rather than -20mm of what you have adjusted it too?

Just dropped the running height by 15mm, the access height drops by a further 40mm. It's ok though not too low. I'm tempted to go a bit more Laughing

Can't decide if the front is slightly lower than the back now although I can't see why as I adjusted the lot in one hit. I'll monitor it for a few days.

Drives miles better though.
