Hi Folks,

Hopefully picking my SE up on the 1st March and was wondering if anyone has come acress any issues (common issues) with the new engine & gearbox?

Hopefully no one answers this post but then again .... "UNDERSTEER" ----is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" ------is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" ----is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" -----------is how far you take the fence with you.

Yes, I agree they are sublime - borrowed one for 2 days so got to use it properly as opposed to an hour long test drive offered by most dealers Thumbs Up "UNDERSTEER" ----is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" ------is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" ----is how fast you hit the fence.

Mine's been great and love it. Hopefully it will remain that way.

Oh, there was one incident...

When my wife was driving back during the freezing cold December. She got in and started the car and off she went. I happened to phone her about something 10 mins later and just asked if everything ok, out of politeness. The response was that the car seemed a bit sluggish. So covering basics, I asked if the car was in normal drive mode, not another TR mode (had been in snow) - a had asked this when she was leaving too. Yes, Yes I was abruptly informed. A little persistance finally it came out that none of the TR lights were actually on. Oh, and there was a nice RED triangle and exclamation mark on the dash. Hmm...

So, as calmly as I could I asked her to view the message associated with the warning. It stated there was a gearbox failure. Nice! And she'd been driving oblivious for 10 mins or so! Finally realising something might be wrong she pulled over and stopped and restarted engine. All cleared and was/has been fine since.

My thoughts are it could have been severe cold weather and gearbox oil or similar, needed warming first - car went into panic don't break me mode.

But to top it all of her response to me was that she just drives the car it's not her job to maintain it. What?!?! I was none too happy and have hopefully sorted the attitude, well until next time... Censored women! (not all I understand)

Anyway, generally all is good and have had no problems other than that minor incident which seemed to cure itself.

Thanks for the reply - it made me lol and also thankful that the other half wont drive the RRS (gone) or the FFRR as she thinks they are too big Thumbs Up

Hopefully the problem was a one off but it might be worthwhile having it checked at the local dealer just to see if it has recorded it and they could look into it for you. "UNDERSTEER" ----is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
