Which iPod

I recently bought an adapter to convert the old style plug in the centre Armrest to a lightening with a view to leaving an iPad mini in the car for music. However, when I tried it yesterday although it worked perfectly, the iPad was too big to fit inside the Armrest! Just wondered what type of iPod (touch, nano etc) I should be looking for before I get trigger happy on eBay 😀

Depends. Do you plan on loading the iPod up with music, or streaming?

The Touch offers larger capacities than the Nano. If you can still find a good Classic, they went up to 160GB (possibly more).

If you're streaming, just use your phone and a Bovee. 2012 L322 5.0l NA

Thanks for the replies, I’m planning on downloading the music and storing it on the iPod rather than streaming. Will I have the same controls on the (car) screen regardless of which iPod I’ve got? If so then I guess I just get the cheapest, biggest storage iPod I can

The only issue with larger capacity is that that e navigation isn’t great, so scrolling through long lists is a PITA, but I like to have my playlists plus most of whatever of my older stuff I might want to listen to.

I also have my phone for streaming or a new temp download from Apple Music should I want that Thumbs Up

The only downside to the iPod Classic, in my opinion, is that it can take longer to fire up, and it shuts itself completely down faster than the iPod Touch. The Touch is just faster in general due to its solid state drive. 2012 L322 5.0l NA

I’m not sure how long the battery lasts, but I’ve never noticed any kind of delay - start the car and the music comes on.

Occasionally it will freeze and need a reboot, but regular operation is fine.

Just get a tune 2 air and store the music on your phone, I had an ipod classic, the tune 2 Air is as good.... There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
