Does the DVLA sell our data?

I received a letter in the post addressed to me personally from Porsche of all people. They were inviting me to an exclusive preview of the new Cayenne.

I have never had any dealings with Porsche so I can only think they are getting their information on Range Rover owners from the DVLA in the vain attempt to lead us astray!!

Anyone else had experience of this underhand behaviour? 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE

I have had those annoying” you have had an accident” ambulance chaser calls... persistent!

I can only guess, I had a windscreen chip done late last year and I wondered if that was sold by the insurance company as a claim/accident to get their £20.00 cost back?

Also, lots of dealers are part of bigger groups so the group will have access to all your info.

I keep getting emails and letters from an Aston dealer (with some very tempting cars Shocked ) because they are part of the same group as the LR dealer who serviced my Westie.

You could always accept their offer, go for a blast in the Cayenne then tell them its not a patch on your FFRR Laughing 2017 4.4 SDV8 Autobiography

The DVLA will sell data to private parking companies.

Sorry , not “sell”, but “charge a fee”. Completely different! Rolling Eyes

I had one of those porch invites too.

Again like you have had no dealings. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

DVLA do sell data as do local councils for £3.95 a pop. Welcome to big brother!!!! Shocked
Just another reason among a sea of others why I left the mother land. An apathetic electorate has allowed the servants to become the master. Ask yourself how many policies government makes is for the benefit of you compared to corporations, councils and other so called authorities. 2007 Vogue TDV8 in Zermatt Silver with Charcoal
