it appears that i mis represented the truth and we do have a pound shop which i frequented, but sadly couldn't find any silica bags...

I was however suitably impressed that you can get 10 kodak aa battaries for just one pound!!!

I agree that leaving the cc on helps lower the humidity.....i don't think it helps much when the boot area is closed up.the forced air vents only have a small spongy seal protecting the electrics area. I have found that the silica gel packs do help.get the ones that change color when they are fully absorbed. You can put them in the oven to dry them out to be reused. A small price for a little extra piece of mind. As always just my humble opinion 2006 RR 4.4 HSE

I have found that the "sat nav being slow to turn on" is related purely to the battery voltage rather than the humidity levels - after a 1400 mile trip across Europe, the sat nav is there in seconds but after a few weeks of 10 miles commutes, it takes up to 10-15s to appear. Try charging your battery rather than buying silica ! Very Happy

I would argue that one Dan. I notice a difference in MPG if mine is left off. According to the "range" in the OBC anyway. 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded
