could be the servotronic valve, do a search and see if the symptoms are the same. ... - .- -.

When it happened to my 2004 car the power steering motor was failing and needed to be replaced. Only Range Rovers since 1988 |

It’s 99% likely to be your bcu (body control unit) under the passenger seat. Search for bcu on here and see a lovely talk thru by our colleague in France. I just replaced mine and instantly had perfect weighted steering again. Under an hour to do.

Cheers guys, interesting post Dolphinboy as a while ago I had 3 drains from fuses, 1 was the usual FSR (replaced that), the other was from the headlight wipers (pulled the fuse), and the 3rd drain was from the BCU fuse (cant remember the number, but theres a long post on here about it I started) She's going in for new brakes and fluid in the next couple of weeks, and to have power steering fluid replaced, so if that doesn't solve it I'll look a the BCU (and no doubt come back with lots of questions too) |

Mine had heavy steering with no funny noises from the pump etc so I replaced the servotronic valve on the pas rack and it was an instant 200% improvement and it’s been perfect since and that was at least 12 months ago, the part was about £100 for a genuine part from a specialist and I changed it myself in about an hour and 1 of the 2 bolts was seized, probably the best £100 I’ve spent on the FF |

Just had a very quick read of bebechoon’s link to Ken_Curtis thread and my passenger side rear door doesn’t unlock either, the more I read the more it points towards the BCU I’ve got an iCarSoft code reader, will plug it in this weekend and see what codes/faults come up Cheers guys |
