Can someone confirm that the two wires one black which is live (18v ?) and the red/yellow have separated . I suspect this is stopping the rear screen from de- misting .

I need a course in soldering , never been good at it , welding .... no probs, I’ll get someone at work, plenty there. I can’t get the bare end to even take the tinning, it just falls off , maybe need some decent solder. The tab that is part of the window wiring is not helping and as you’ve said is above your head won’t tin either and you end up getting solder all over you , not good. Will try again tomorrow . |

Partial success eventually , decent slider which had flux unit seemed to to the trick , not an easy job, I will see how long it lasts. |

Excellent news. I'm no expert at soldering either, but mine has held on for a year now, which given how much a Defender shakes and rattles, I assume means it's good enough! |

Wonderful - it's always nice when such a cheap fix works, especially after the soldering issues. You're well prepared for the next few days' weather now then! |
