Brake pads for my RR

Hi all, so my front and rear pads need replacing soon, any advice on whether to get whatever the dealer recommends or has anyone got any experience of using aftermarket pads, brembo, AP etc?

Thanks in advance

Darren

I have used genuine land rover pads along with ebc green stuff and ebc yellow stuff, the genuine ones are ok, so are the green stuff but with less brake dust than the land rover ones, the yellow stuff ones though are great, lot less dust plus much better breaking than the others and they lasted almost a year too...

yeah I've always had yellow stuff on my celica so would be trying them on the RR when it needs them. Dan

Yellows are very, very dusty, and wear out a little quickly, IME. But they do stop very well

Redstuff are a good upgrade, with a low dust rating, decent lifespan etc

Greenstuff are not as good as the Reds, and a little dustier (IMHO) but are a whole lot cheaper

That said, whatever you go for will be cheaper than genuine Shocked

Red stuffs are probably well suited to the Range Rover, as it's hard on its brakes so keeps them warm most of the time.

They're basically racing pads, lots of people stick them in normal cars (usually a small hatchback) because they're "Racing" pads, then find the brakes are dangerously bad on the road, because the brakes don't reach the optimum temperature. A lot like the fit massive alloys to make them handle better, but then only put ultra budget tyres on them.

I've used greenstuffs in my mini, they do seem to be a bit hit and miss for their quality control, you buy a set this week they'll be excellent, the next set you get are poor.

Mintex pads are highly rated in the minis, anyone tried them in the Range Rover? They seem to have a decent online shop
