2011 4.4TDV8 - Another "Which Battery?" Thread

Hi team,

Yes another battery thread. Must be the cold weather plus a few days not using the FF - I got a low battery alert today.

Voltage read 11.7v but I'd been messing with my new IIDTool and raising/lowering from my iPhone* without the engine running. Deployable steps in and out a bit and may have all been enough to drain it abnormally.

Started ok and the alternator was pumping 14+volts. But I think I'll order a new one. In better weather if I've been watching a bit of TV it'll shut off after 20 mins saying start engine. Not so bad but shows it's been getting on.

So I've spent the last hour reading through all the 2011 4.4TDV8 Battery posts I could find. A lot of chat about 019s but you can maybe squeeze an 020 but needs to be AGM. Read that the Varta G14 or the H15 is popular. Also seeing Craig recommends OEM batteries. Most of the links are dead now though.

So I'd love to hear any other recommends. Especially if anyone sees a good deal going.

Thanks guys,
Greg

*IID Tool newbie: OMFG HOW COOL IS THAT???? Could this gadget full of gadgets they call a Range Rover get any more gadgety? Still finding out what the IID Tool can do but it looks super C O O L !! Cheers, Greg

The H15 won’t fit.
Needs to be the G14.
Needs to be AGM.

I am still on the mostly original battery since new. (There were some faulty AGMs factory fitted that had to be replaced.)

Greg,
You need to keep the engine running when “playing “ with your iid .
I tried connecting my CTEK via the towing socket adapter, thinking that would keep battery charged, but I still got the battery low start engine message ??
