How do I tell...

Just (trying) selling my 2012 westminster - have been asked if I have active rear differential ? How do I tell ???

I’m a turn key and drive person- no real idea of what goes on underneath

Thanks for info Bill Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Emissions Analytics worked with........etc etc

Bill you can register as an owner on http://topix.landrover.jlrext.com/

Then using your VIN number you can get your Land Rover build sheet and you (and any potential buyer) can see exactly what was fitted.

Good luck,
Greg Cheers, Greg

Your VIN number was successfully decoded, then it showed me a picture of a L405 so I might take that to land rover and tell them they've sold the wrong car and I want it swapping

Other than that no info unless I pay $5 but it doesn't say what i'm going to get for that

If you select one of the off-road functions you will get a graphic on the dash which shows the diff locks as padlocks, if you are in mud or ice and accelerate they change to locked.

Not sure but I think you only get one padlock if you don’t have a locking rear diff, somebody without one could confirm this.

You're in a difficult place at that kind of number, dealers offer warranty and finance which means a lot to a buyer, You have a lot of consumer rights when buying from a dealer, Plus it's probably the worst time of year to selll a car, how does the price of your car compare to sold listings on eBay.

Yup, Wack61 , see the point about dealers security. Compared on eBay a couple a smudging cheaper but more miles. Some similar but more miles and a lot more expensive with less/more miles..

It has to be the security issue- when this add finishes at the new lower level, will think about eBay as an option, perhaps as an auction with a reserve.

My advice for a private sale is take the number you'd be happy with and advertise it at or close to that , ignore other asking prices because they're just that , testing the water to see if anyone bites

of course it all depends if you're after a quick sale , have you valued it on Evans halshaw's version of we buy any car
