Program a remote key?

I got two remote keys with my 2007 Vogue SE.
One was working fine, the other would start the car and open the door with the blade but had no remote control.

I bought new key battery and a new key case and followed a how-to guide to replace the battery - cut open the case with a Dremel, unsolder battery, solder in a new one, swap out the key blade etc.

I did that but the new key still has no working remote. It will unlock the car with the blade and start the enigine but the remote does not work.

I opened the key again and put a volt meter over the new battery terminals and it reads 3.5volts. When I press a button on the fob the voltage dips to 3.14 or similar.. this would suggest that the remote is sending a signal out ok (I think?).

I guess I need to try program it to the car. Is there a guide or a process.. any tips?

Thanks

This is how I did it

Put in working key and turn upto ignition position glow plug light on, then back to off then upto ignition again
Now take key out and with in 5 secs hold down lock button on working key and press unlock between 3 & 10 times
One of those times it will lock and unlock your car.
Now quickly take non working key and again hold down lock button and press unlock 3-10 times till it locks & unlocks
Then when you have done all your keys in this manner take a key and put it back in ignition turn it upto position 2 (glow plug) then off out key out. That shuts down key programming

All keys should now lock and unlock.

Enjoy

No joy im afraid.. was that process for a 2007 tdv8 with 3 button flip key? Didn't work for me, tried another guide where you switch on ignition once then press unlock for 15secs etc.. that didn't work either.. maybe my key is just knackered.. thanks for your help though!

If it didn’t work just try it a few times, I had to do it four times before it worked for me

It seems to be abit of a knack, mine is a 2007 tdv8 but with the old key but it worked with an
eBay bay flip key so I am sure it will work.

Good luck.
